Our Journey Began in 1996

1996

HalalBayt was founded in California, inspired by the immense success of the Toronto Housing Cooperative. We set out to create a Shariah-compliant pathway to homeownership for our community.

1997

With the purchase of our very first home in Santa Clara County, California, we celebrated our very first milestone.

2004

Expanded our vision by launching our Real Estate Investment Trust (RIET).

2008

Surpassed over $10.2 in our managed assets, thus marking a new era of growth for our cooperative.

2014

Crossed over 200 plus homes purchase mark
